Finishing your CD booklet

CDJB

Just some general remarks, to be considered and possibly corrected…

  • Respect the trimline and the security padding for text.
  • Just use one font for the lyrics and technical notes.
Unless the concept is to mix everything, then you can do whatever you want and be consequent in this direction. But if not, keep control. Especially in terms of font size variations. Just look how it’s done on CDs you like.
  • If there’s too much text, take less lyrics, font size should remain legible (at least 7pt)
In real projects you always have to discuss this with your client!
  • If there’s too little text, make up or copy something from a real project. But adapt it to your needs. Not only copy / paste. (© issues)
  • Check for typos
    (⌘ + C your text then ⌘ + V to http://www.spellcheck.net)
  • Be aware of the color scale regarding fonts and pictures.
In general: reduced scale = distinguished, colorful = popular.
  • Keep things balanced and don’t overload.
The inside or poster thing can be very simple. One strong motif might be enough.
If you want to do tricky graphic design collage art, go ahead. I appreciate.
  • The templates could be found here
    http://www.oasiscd.com/graphics/templates-jewelcase.asp
  • So, if one or more points have brought major changes, export as .pdf and send to jmucomputergraphics@gnail.com until Wdn night (about 7pm not Thrs morning, please).

Thanks.
